Abstract
profesor Juan Luis Pintos.
congreso anual del grupo GCEIS en 2016Complex sociological concepts are simplified in this article with a pedagogical goal. To achieve
that goal, TV shows, films and comic books are used as expression of the social use of the
Imaginaries. The TV show The Wire (HBO 2002-2008) and Marvel comics are in consequence
utilized as examples of that social function, as well as some references to the movie Captain
America: civil war (2016). A social system sociological perspective based in Niklas Luhmann and
inspirited in the concept of Social Imaginaries by Pintos founds the theoretical background
employed. This article transcribes a communication where the complexity of social systems
theory of social imaginaries was somehow simplified to grasp an understanding of our complex
present and imagining our uncertain futureinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
