Alive and kicking: a progress report on Open Access, institutional repositories, and health information

Abstract

The Open Access movement has promoted two parallel strands of information dissemination - OA publishing, and self-archiving in OA repositories. But while the original focus was peer-reviewed scientific research papers, repositories have extended their role well beyond the original OA concept, generating a lively debate about the role of the OA movement.
