Female migrants, partner choice and socio-economic destiny : Finnish women in Stockholm in the 17th and 18th century

The aim of this paper is to study the structure and nature of female 
migration from Finland to Stockholm in the 17th and early 18th century and the opportunities in the new urban environment. The study 
will probe the question of partner choice, regional preferences and the
