Rational Health Care Reform: Reflections of a Practitioner

Abstract

The article discusses the inefficiencies in U.S. health care provision that is not addressed by the health care bill signed into law in 2010. The presence of the insurance provider, in a doctor-patient relationship, contributes to health care inefficiency. It advises the regulation of insurance companies, catastrophic health care to be the government\u27s responsibility, and the inclusion of tort reform to bring down insurance costs
