Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, Northeastern UniversityThe absorption spectra of methyl amine, methyl amine-d2β, methyl-d3β amine and methyl-d3β amine-d2β have been measured photoelectrically in the 1050-2500 {\AA} region with a 1-m monochromator having a 1.0AΛ band-width. Only the first two electronic transitions at 2150 and 1740AΛ show extensive vibrational structure. The deuterium derivatives have aided in the vibrational analysis of the previously unassigned 1740AΛ band. The electronic structure of methyl amine will be discussed in relation to that of ammonia and other simple alkyl amines
