This research examines the effect of contextual learning in Civic Education toward civic competence among Junior High School students in West Java. Civic competence is consisted of several variables: inter-relationship, direct experience, application, cooperation, self-regulation, and authentic assesment concepts. Employing quantitative approach, the research suggests that contextual learning in Civic Education influenced positively and significantly among 26% of respondents. The highest contribution was attributed by cooperation concept (21%), followed in second by self-regulating concept (20%).Riset ini meneliti efek pembelajaran kontekstual dalam Pelajaran Kewarganegaraan terhadap kompetensi kewarganegaraan di antara siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Jawa Barat. Variabel kompetensi kewarganegaraan yang diteliti mencakup konsep keterkaitan, pengalaman langsung, penerapan, kerjasama, pengaturan diri, dan penilaian otentik. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, riset berhasil mendapatkan sejumlah temuan. Pertama, Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap 26% responden. Dari keseluruhan variabel, terbukti bahwa konsep kerjasama memberi pengaruh terbesar (21%) dalam memunculkan kompetensi kewarganegaraan, diikuti konsep pengaturan diri (20%)
