Arg-Thz is a minimal substrate for the N-alpha,N-alpha-arginyl methyltransferase involved in the biosynthesis of plantazolicin

We show that PznL processes truncated desmethyl-plantazolicin analogues, but only those with an N-terminal guanidine side chain derived from arginine.
