Basil Tahan Asam Pada Nyamuk

Abstract

Leprosy is a chronic disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae. M. Leprae (AFB) is found in blood of lepromatous patients. A preliminary study of AFB (Acid Fast Bacteria) was performed from 49 mosquitoes in a leprosy ward. The result shows that 2(4,1%) mosquitoes were found positive AFB. This study was undertaken to investigate the possibility of mosqiutoes as a vehicle in transmission and spreading of leprosy
