Abstract

The increasing demand for natural rubber calls for improved productivity and extension of rubber growing areas to non-traditional in most rubber growing countries. Biotechnologies play a role in breeding and also in understanding the various plant biological processes involved in plant development and defence against biotic and abiotic stresses.
