Sensitivity and Calibration of LHDIRVBs (1)Peterson, B.l., Ashikawa, N., Kostrioukov, A.In recent years a new type of imagingbolometer known as the Infrared ImagingVideo Bolometer (IRVB) has been underdevelopment at NIPS which uses an IR camerato measure the temperature of a thin foilexposed to radiation from the plasma [1,2].Recently a calibration technique has beendeveloped which permits characterization of thelocal thermal properties of the foil [2]. Also aspart of this work an expression for the noiseequivalent power was derived, which is givenin simplified form as:in terms of the thermal diffusivity, K, thethermal conductivity, k, and the thickness of thefoil, tl , the area of the bolometer pixel, A, thetemperature the error in the IR camerameasurement, C5iR' the time resolution of the IRcamera, LitlR , and the number of IR pixels perbolometer pixel, N.
