Reflection of Japanese Culture in Education Content for grades 7-12 in Latvia

Abstract

Bakalaura darba „Japāņu kultūras atspoguļojums 7.-12. klašu mācību saturā Latvijā” mērķis ir izpētīt japāņu kultūras atspoguļojumu mācību grāmatās no 1991. līdz 2014. gadam. Darbā analizēta teorētiskā literatūra un mācību satura avoti 13 mācību priekšmetos. Veikta arī skolotāju un japāņu respondentu anketaptauja. Analizējot atspoguļojumu mācību grāmatās un japāņu respondentu atbildes par to, kā tas rezultējies japāņu kultūras izpratnē, atklājas sakarība – kaut arī atspoguļojums kopumā ir izsmeļošs un daudzpusīgs, tā kā 24 gadu periodā tā īpatsvars grāmatu vidū ir zems, izpratne lielākoties novērtēta kā fragmentāra un virspusēja. Japāņu izcelsmes vārdu kļūdu labojums, latviskošanas tabula un respondentu ieteikumi kalpos par noderīgu materiālu, izstrādājot mācību saturu turpmāk.The aim of the Bachelor’s thesis "Reflection of Japanese Culture in Education Content for grades 7-12 in Latvia" is to research the reflection of Japanese culture in school textbooks from year 1991 to 2014. Thesis consists of analysis of theoretical literature and education content in 13 subjects. Survey for teachers and Japanese respondents was conducted as well. Analyzing the reflection in school textbooks and Japanese respondents’ opinions about how it results in understanding Japanese culture, it was found that even though it is generally thorough, due to its infrequent occurrence during 24 years, the understanding was rated as fragmentary and superficial. Mistake correction of words of Japanese origin, Lettonization table and suggestions of respondents will serve as a useful source in further development of education content
