该研究以中国西部干旱区为区域研究背景,在区域、景观尺度上,以模型模拟、数值实验、遥感资料反演等为手段并结合定点观测,研究绿洲与沙漠系统的耦合关系、绿洲演化的动力学机制、绿洲稳定性评价指标体系;在生态系统、群落及分子遗传尺度上,通过额济纳旗、阜康、乌苏、尉犁、阿克苏等典型绿洲的系统工作,以定点观测、控制实验、样带调查、实验分析等手段,研究农田生态系统高效、持续发展模式,绿洲沙漠过渡带荒漠群落结构与环境因子的关系,水盐运移规律与次生盐渍化发生机理,以及生态系统与气候因子相互作用机理等。采用点面结合、微观与宏观结合的研究方法,探讨绿洲稳定性机理和生态安全机制。构建了干旱区绿洲稳定性研究的理论框架
