RESULTS COMPLEX-GINGIVITIS-PHARYNGITIS STOMATITIS The complex gingivitis-stomatitis-pharyngitis is a disease that affects only cats and cause is still unknown. It’s characterized by an aggressive inflammation of the oral mucosa, including the regions of the gums, tongue, palate and pharynx (Bellows, 2010) and the symptoms include loss of appetite, salivation, intense halitosis, bleeding gums and swelling pharynx. 3º CONGRESSO INTERNACIONAL DE ENFERMAGEM VETERINÁRIA – ELVAS, 25, 26 E 27 DE OUTUBRO DE 2013 22  Treatment consists of dental extraction; periodontal treatment is also advised (Holmstrom et al., 2007).  FELINE LYPHOPLASMATIC GINGIVOSTOMATITIS (GECF) The GECF characterized by a local inflammatory response or diffuse responsible for the appearance of lesions with ulcer-proliferative effect on the oral mucosa. The most frequent clinical symptoms are anorexia, dysphagia, halitosis, drooling, pain and dehydration. The GECF lesions are accompanied by gingivitis, periodontitis, stomatitis and ulceration lingual and palatine, and there is, to date, no effective treatment for the GECF (Vilela et al., 2004).  FELINE ODONTOCLASTIC RESORPTION LESIONS (LROF) Affects about 70% of cats, being more frequent in animals older than four years and is characterized by early reabsorption of permanent teeth, occurring almost always a drooling and loss of appetite. The recommended solution for these cases is the extraction of teeth involved (Bellows, 2010; Holmstrom et al., 2007).  DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION Most oral diseases in the cat came from an incorrect condition of oral hygiene, therefore consider essential to inform the owner about oral hygiene, its consequences and risks, avoiding the animal suffering and unnecessary expenses also in the future. Com a elaboração deste trabalho, pretende-se realizar uma breve abordagem às mesmas, uma vez que, afetam especificamente felídeos domésticos. A Gengivo-Estomatite Linfoplasmática Felina (GELF), a Lesão de Reabsorção Odontoclástica Felina (LROF) e o Complexo Gengivite-Estomatite-Faringite, têm sido objeto de estudo, sendo algumas delas consideradas um enigma dentro da odontologia veterinária, isto porque, ainda existem muitas incertezas acerca das verdadeiras causas, que por vezes provocam danos irreversíveis. (Bellows, 2010; Bonello, 2007; Vilela et al.,2004).  RESULTADOS COMPLEXO GENGIVITE-ESTMATITE-FARINGITE O complexo gengivite-estomatite-faringite é uma patologia que afeta somente felinos e cuja causa é ainda desconhecida. Manifesta-se por uma agressiva inflamação da mucosa oral, incluindo as regiões da gengiva, língua, palato e faringe (Bellows, 2010), podendo enumerar como sintomas a perda de apetite, salivação intensa e espessa, halitose intensa, sangramento das gengivas e edema na região faríngea. 3º CONGRESSO INTERNACIONAL DE ENFERMAGEM VETERINÁRIA – ELVAS, 25, 26 E 27 DE OUTUBRO DE 2013 25  O tratamento consiste na extração dentária, estando também aconselhado tratamento periodontal (Holmstrom et al., 2007).  GENGIVO-ESTOMATITE LINFOPLASMÁTICA FELINA (GECF) A GECF caracteriza-se por uma resposta inflamatória local ou difusa, responsável pelo aparecimento de lesões do tipo ulcero-proliferativo na mucosa oral. Os sintomas clínicos mais frequentes são anorexia, disfagia, halitose, ptialismo, dor e desidratação. As lesões de GECF acompanham-se de gengivite, periodontite, estomatite e ulcerações linguais e palatinas, não existindo, até ao momento, nenhum tratamento eficaz para a GECF (Vilela et al., 2004).   LESÃO DE REABSORÇÃO ODONTOCLÁSTICA FELINA (LROF) Afeta cerca de 70% dos gatos, sendo mais frequente em animais com idades superiores a quatro anos e caracteriza-se pelo começo da reabsorção dos dentes permanentes, ocorrendo quase sempre uma salivação excessiva e perda de apetite. A solução indicada para estes casos é a extração dos dentes comprometidos (Bellows, 2010; Holmstrom et al., 2007).   DISCUSSÃO E CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS A maior parte das patologias orais no gato são provenientes de uma incorreta condição de higienização bucal, e por isso, consideramos fundamental informar o proprietário acerca das mesmas, suas consequências e riscos, evitando sofrimentos maiores ao animal e também gastos desnecessários no futuro (Bellows, 2010; Bonello, 2007; Huttly et al., 2003).  3º CONGRESSO INTERNACIONAL DE ENFERMAGEM VETERINÁRIA – ELVAS, 25, 26 E 27 DE OUTUBRO DE 2013 26  O enfermeiro veterinário pode ter um papel crucial na prevenção e controlo das doenças orais felinas, quer pela via da sensibilização do proprietário, quer pela via da explicação e implementação de medidas de higiene oral.
