I S EPTEMBE R, 1933 NO.4 PAPAL BLESSING FOR GUILD MEMBERS H IS Eminence Patrick Cardin al H ayes has made known a letter which he has received from the Holy F a ther in a nswer to the account forwarded to him of the work of the Federated Catholic Physi-cians' Guilds. The letter is as follows: "Vatican, April 5th, 1933. Most R everend and Eminent Lord: It is with the most lively pleasu re and appreciation that the Holy Father has r eceived Your E minence's account of the establishment of the Catholic Physicians' Gui ld in your Archdiocese, and of the fruitful work whi ch the Guild is now promoting while at the same time it gives hope of still greater fruits for t he future by vindicating, as it does, Catholic doctrine and morals wh ich its members furth er confirm by their activities and examp le as well as by the authoritative pronounce-ments of their science. To each of these beloved Sons t he H oly Father impa rts his special Apostolic Benediction with t he devout wish that their apostolic work nourished by the Lord's choices t graces may sprout into more vigo rou s fruitfulness for the salvation of soul s and for th e spread of the kingdom of our Lord J esus Christ. Most gladly do I avail myself of this occas ion to express to Your Eminence my deep sentiments of es teem and humbly kiss your hand. I beg to be Your Eminence'"'s humble and faithful servant, E .
