Comunicação apresentada em XXIV Jornadas Luso-Espanholas de Gestão Científica, dias 6 a 8 de fevereiro de 2014 no Instituto Politécnico de LeiriaEsta comunicação pretende analisar e refletir sobre o comprometimento organizacional. O objetivo
geral do estudo é analisar o comprometimento organizacional dos docentes do ensino superior,
discutindo e analisando em que medida o comprometimento organizacional destes profissionais se
relaciona com as variáveis sociodemográficas, e, consequentemente, verificar se estas variáveis
são ou não explicativas do comprometimento organizacional. O objeto central do estudo é uma
instituição de ensino superior, nomeadamente o seu corpo docente. Analisar de que forma se
encontram “comprometidos” com a instituição, em tempos de crise, são questões que se colocam
na atualidade. Como técnica de recolha de dados foi utilizado o inquérito por questionário. A
amostra é constituída por 46 profissionais. Os resultados indicam que a diferente conjugação das
varíaveis sociodemográficas está na base de modelos diferentes de comprometimento
organizacional destes profissionais (normativo, afetivo e instrumental). Conclui-se, assim, que os
docentes possuem diferentes níveis de comprometimento organizacional, os quais são ancorados
pelas características pessoais e profissionais.This communication aims to analyze and reflect on the organizational commitment . The main
objective of the study is to analyze the organizational commitment of teachers in higher education ,
discussing and analyzing the relations between organizational commitment and some
sociodemographic variables, and thus verify if these variables are, or are not, explanatory of
commitment organizational. The object is an institution of higher education, namely its faculty.
Examine how they are " committed" to the institution, in times of crisis, are issues facing today.
The research method used was the survey. The sample is constituted by 46 professional. Results
suggest that the different combination of sociodemographic variables is the basis of different
models of organizational commitment tof hese professionals (normative, affective and instrumental
