Physical Description / Condition: 1 b&w photograph (20 x 24 cm) mounted on matte board (26 x 31 cm) Administrative/ Biographical Sketch  In March 1926 the Canadian section of the American Waterworks Association met for three days in St. Catharines, Ont. at the the I.O.O.F. Temple on James Street.   Attendees included representatives from Canada and the United States.    Among the speakers at the meeting was deputy fire marshal of Ontario, George F. Lewis.   The meeting was opened with a welcome from Mayor Jacob Smith of St. Catharines, the chairman of the water Commission, George F. Peterson, Dr. D.V. Currey, Minister of Health, and Superintendent Alexander Milne.     On Thursday, March 4, 1926, following a dinner at noon, delegates attended a demonstration by the Mueller Service Pipe and Fittings on the lawn of the New Murray Hotel, cor. of James and King Streets.   The photograph was taken by Alexander S. Whyte of St. Catharines.   Whyte was a photographer in St. Catharines from 1917 to 1944.  In 1926 Whyte had an office at 151 St. Paul Street.     The Mueller Brass Company of Port Huron, MI specialized in the manufacture of brass fittings for the plumbing supply industry.   The company is still in business today (2011), known now as Mueller Industries, Inc.
