[Resumen] En este trabajo se analiza la trayectoria vital y profesional de Veneranda García Manzano. Sus inicios como maestra, su participación en la vida política y su posterior exilio. Protagonista como tantos otros de un tiempo de ilusión, personifica, de manera muy ajustada, la realidad de una España que no llegó a fraguar. Es, en definitiva, la crónica de la historia vivida por una maestra en el primer tercio del siglo XX en España, pero sobre todo en el tiempo de la Segunda República española.[Abstract] This paper analyzes the life and career of Veneranda Garcia Manzano, her early days as a teacher, her participation in political life and her period in exile. Like many others she stood out as a protagonist in a time of hope and she was the incarnation of a reality in Spain that did not take hold . It chronicles the story of the life of a teacher who lived during the first third of the 20thcentury, especially reflecting the period of the Second Republic in Spain
