Abstract
En el presente artículo volvemos a insistir en la Vía Augusta a su paso por nuestra Provincia, incidiendo en ese
doble trazado: el del litoral (corredor de Torreblanca-Santa Magdalena de Polpís) y el del interior (corredor de Borriol-Sant
Mateu-Traiguera) adscribiendo el primero al Alto Imperio, posiblemente sin miliarios puesto que tampoco los tiene el resto
del País; y el segundo al Bajo Imperio, ahora sí con columnas miliarias. Cambio debido, suponemos, a los movimientos
de inestabilidad política en torno al tercer cuarto del siglo III.In this article, we remark on the presence of Via Augusta as it passes through our province, Castellón, emphasizing
the two paths: the coastal path (the Torreblanca-Sant Magdalena corridor), and the inland path (the Borriol-Sant Mateu
corridor). The former – possibly without mileposts, as the rest of the country also lacks them – is attributed to the High
Roman Empire, and the latter, now featuring such mileposts, to the Low Empire. The change is due to the political
unrest around the third quarter of the third century
