Este artigo busca elaborar uma visão panorâmica sobre as heresias nos períodos da Idade Média Central e da Baixa Idade Média, apresentando suas fontes e discussão historiográfica. Parte-se de uma discussão inicial sobre o conceito de “heresia” desde os antigos, acompanhando seu desenvolvimento
no decurso da história medieval. Enfatizando os últimos períodos da Idade Média, procede-se a uma apresentação das fontes medievais relacionadas às heresias e sua repressão sob a égide da Igreja Cristã do Ocidente, seguindo-se uma discussão final sobre as heresias ao fim da Idade Média.ABSTRACT: This article attempts to elaborate a panoramic view about the heresies
in the periods of Central Middle Ages and Last Middle Ages, presenting its mainly fonts and historiography discussion. In first place, it is pointed a discussion about the concept of “heresy” since the antiquity, following
its development in the medieval history. Emphasizing the last periods of the
Middle Ages, the text proceeds to a presentation of medieval fonts related to the heresies and its repression by the Occidental Church, concluding with a discussion about the heresies in the end of the Middle Ages
