For this issue of Praxis, focusing on authority and cooperation, the editors composed a survey exploring various aspects of the topic, which we sent to several directors of writing centers around the country. The survey asked directors to think about general writing center philosophy, directive versus nondirective consulting approaches, writing center dynamics, training methods, and the consultant's authority.
