Abstract

Mª Paz Corominas Guerín participó en los Juegos Olímpicos de México en 1968 en el deporte de natación obteniendo Diploma Olímpico por un séptimo lugar en la final de doscientos metros espalda. Aquella circunstancia suponía un hito histórico en la natación española, por cuanto que se convertía en la primera mujer de nuestro país en nadar en una final olímpica. Este trabajo supone un recuerdo y recuperación de las circunstancias de su trayectoria deportiva en una etapa de la historia del deporte español en la que eran escasas las mujeres españolas que tenían la oportunidad de practicar una modalidad deportiva y conseguir un nivel que les pudiera suponer la posibilidad de competir a nivel internacionalMª Paz Corominas Guerin participated in the Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968 in the sport of swimming obtaining Olympic Diploma for seventh place in the final of two hundred meters backstroke. That fact was a historic landmark in the Spanish swimming, because she was the first woman of our country in swimming in an Olympic final.
