Abstract
trabajo en grupo, el proyecto concluye con la construcción de ‘la gran torre’This is a narrative of a project that emerges from a situation of free block play in
kindergarten (5-6 years). The teacher gave the children a building material designed to
promote mathematical learning. After several sessions of free play, in which children
show interest in building tall towers, the teacher, based on children's interest, proposes the
'challenge of the towers': Children need to build a tower and try, the next day, to build
another tower higher. In this situation, designed by the teacher for the learning of indirect
comparison and measurement, arises children’s idea of building a high tower outdoors, to
avoid collision with the ceiling of the classroom. Then the activity becomes a project.
After much effort of collaboration and teamwork, the project concludes with the
construction of the 'great tower
