¿Retorno al movimiento cooperativo? Retos para la economía, la política y la educación

Abstract

En el mundo actual, gran parte de los seres humanos están sometidos a una globalización de lógica económica capitalista. En este contexto, se constata una tendencia acentuada al individualismo aunque, simultáneamente, se observan también iniciativas de organización cooperativa, situación que plantea múltiples interrogantes. ¿Todavía son posibles los movimientos cooperativos? Como expresión de poder social ¿la organización cooperativa serviría para comunicar prácticas de producción y distribución de bienes contribuyendo a debatir posibilidades de resistencia o alternativas de exclusión social? ¿El movimiento cooperativo puede ayudar a construir nuevos caminos en economía, nuevos lazos sociales, una nueva cultura política? Este artículo no contiene respuestas, sólo pretende contribuir a reflexionar sobre los desafíos actuales del movimiento cooperativo.Nowadays, most human beings are subjected to an economic logic of capitalist globalization. In this context, there is a marked trend towards individualism. But you can also see initiatives through the cooperative organization. Given this context, it was asked whether there would still be place to cooperative movements? Can a cooperative organization as an expression of social power come to occupy a place of communication regarding practices of production and distribution of goods, and thus contribute to the discussion about possibilities of resistance and alternatives to social exclusion? Can the cooperative movement contribute to the construction of new alternatives in economy, new social links, and new culture in politics? These are provocative questions to reflect on cooperatives practices. This text does not intend to provide answers, but aims at contributing to the discussion on the current challenges for the cooperative movement.
