The present paper aims to describe the scour hole process around large piles through laboratory tests under waves, unidirectional and tidal currents in time. The process for unidirectional and tidal currents has been compared. The tests have been carried out in a wave flume equipped with a two way recirculation pump at the Hydraulic Laboratory at Aalborg University.
