Surface Effects on Long-ranger Moored ADCP (RREX case study)

Abstract

This document reports on the data of upward-looking moored Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers near the surface (down to 300m deep). Those ADCPs show sometimes spurious behavior near the surface, induced by waves and lack of particles. The objective is to discuss these behaviors for a better understanding of our datasets and configuration of our instruments
