Technological advances in electronics manufacturing and the design of automobiles, to name just two of the most striking examples, have brought about a trend toward very narrow specifications and increasingly stringent requirements on the quality of electrodeposited layers of nickel. The most frequently used formulations of nickel plating solutions (Watts nickel, nickel and nickel-cobalt sulfamate) have been the subject of considerable research and development activity in the last three decades
