Karimunjawa is one of a district in Jepara are an archipelago, located in the North of the Java Sea. With the increasing growth of population and economic needs of the surrounding community, it will increase the pressure on the resource condition in Karimunjawa. The pressure in the form of threat to existing resources and protected such as a protected species of fish, coral reefs, human resources activities such as the use of a compressor and not environmentally friendly fishing gear. The fish auction place in Karimunjawa is long inactive so that the fishers sell their catches to a middleman who able control the price of fish unilaterally, in addition, the unavailability of good database and makes monitoring the capture fisheries cannot be monitored optimally, so that the sustainability of fisheries resources is not known definitely, so that the management of the utilization of fish resources needed to avoid damage to the ecosystem and overfishing which able causing pressure on the fishery resources that able causing the degradation of fisheries resources.
The main objective of the study is to obtain the profile study capture fisheries to explore the model of good fishery management with statistic descriptive methods and formulating management strategies of sustainable fisheries resources by the method of Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP).
The results of this study are some communities of Karimunjawa working as a fishers, amounting to 1,262 people, some fisher are members of the majority fishermen group and fishermen use environmentally friendly fishing gear, such as hand line, but there are still fishers who use the compressor. Capture fisheries production in 2013 and 2014 that lead to the types of mackerel tuna, mackerel and anchovy. Conditions of fish auction place are inactive so that the fishers sell them to middlemen and then mostly shipped to Jepara city and then be distributed to Semarang city and Jakarta city. A Management of Agreement in facing the current fishing conditions are law enforcement, monitoring and intensive supervision, coral reef rehabilitation, the socialization of regulation the size of fish caught, and diversification of livelihoods. The AHP analysis results showed that the main strategy of top in the first capture fisheries management is to create and maintain the condition of the ecosystem in which breeding fish resources with the conservation of coral reefs and make a fish apartments, the second, by making the accurate database which describes the number of types of fish caught and the number of trips, due to the very limited data available due to the fish auction place has been inactive so that the statistical registrar have difficulty record the fishing activities in Karimunjawa
