Ausgehend von der Arzneitaxe aus dem Jahr 1496 beschreibt die Dissertation nach einem kurzen Abriss der sozialen und politischen Lage der Stadt und der Region Württemberg in einem ersten Schritt die Ärzte und Apotheker der Reichsstadt Esslingen im ausgehenden Mittelalter. Des weiteren wird ihr Verhältnis zueinander und ihre Rolle bei der Entstehung der Arzneitaxe erörtert. Anschließend wird das Verhältnis dieser Arzneitaxe zu ähnlichen Dokumenten anderer Städte der Region behandelt. Schließlich werden Inhalt der Arzneitaxe und Umfang des Arzneischatzes untersucht.With the 'Arzneitaxe' from 1496 (official price list stipulating the drugs which had to be available and the prices that could be charged) as a basis and after a short view on the social and political situation of the town and the region of Württemberg the dissertation describes in a first step physicians and pharmacists of the emperial town ('Reichsstadt') of Esslingen in the last period of the Middle Ages. It continues with their mutual relation and their role concerning the development of the 'Arzneitaxe'. Subsequently the dissertation deals with the relation between this 'Arzneitaxe' and similar documents of other towns in the region. Finally the contents of the 'Arzneitaxe' and the variety of the listed remedies are examinated
