Metallo-supramolecular coordination polymers : polyelectrolyte behavior

Abstract

The addn. of metal salts to the polymeric spacer unit bis(terpyridinyl)-poly(ethylene oxide) provides water-sol. high mol. wt. coordination polymers with interesting soln. properties. The incorporated charges might lead to enhanced performance as flocculation agents. The reversibility of the metal complex moieties facilitates applications as intelligent hydrogels for drug delivery.
