This study aims at identifying the difficulties to which the technical translator is
confronted when translating technical terms from english into arabic. By
analysing the user’s guide, we have come to the conclusion that the translation
procedures used for transferring these terms were: borrowing, literal translation
,calque and over translation. Among the difficulties that the translator faces
neologism, symbols and abbreviations that may be available in the arabic
language
