JANUARY ALUMNI PHONATHON Yes, we have scheduled three add itional evenings of alum-ni volunteer phonathons to help continue the growth of the Law School Fund. Who: Alumni of any and all classes who wish to playa vi tal role with the law school. What: Calling classmates and fellow graduates ro raise money for the School of Law. When: January 23, 24, 25 5:30 p.m. Where: T he Brune Room, 4th floor of the Marshall Law Library at the School of Law. How: Simply call (410) 706-2070 to register! Why: Because you and the School of Law have built an annual fund that is one of the best in the nation in alumni per-centage of participation, and we need your continued help ro become number one! 18 SENATOR SARBANES AT CHEVY CHASE CLUB On June 6, 1995, an event for alumni from Montgomery Coun ry and surrounding areas was held at the Chevy Chase C lub in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Nearly 100 alumni from several Maryland counties and Washingron, D.C. attend-ed. Senaror Paul S. Sarbanes talked for almost 30 minutes about the "new Congress," then answered questions. Prior ro his presenration he spoke informally with alumni in the club 's grand ballroom. T he success of the event was due largely to the planning committee's efforts and infec-tious enthusiasm. Among those who gave their time so gener-ously were Sheldon Schuman '65, Steve Van Grack '74, Roger Winsron '79, William Wood '66 and Jeffrey Wyand '77. On behalf of the School of Law and all the event partici-pants, thank you for a job well done. The Montgomery Counry event drew the largest crowd of any alumni nerworking event ever sponso red by the Alumni Association. In our attempt to serve alumni throughout Maryland and beyond, we will hold similar evenrs throughout Montgomery County event co-hosts William Wood '66 and Steven Van Grack '74 with Dean Gifford . 1995 and 1996. Those of you in Texas, California, Western Maryland, Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey and New York, please watch your mail for invitations ro evenrs in your area. We look fOlward ro seeing you!
