The article presents the phenomenon of the so-called „scientific creationism” against the background of birth and development of contemporary Christian fundamentalism, which is mainly related to Protestant circles. Christian fundamentalism was born as a strong reaction to the changes in the scientific image of the world and also in the world of thinking about culture at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. The main target of the attacks of fundamentalists was the theory of evolution, Il „scientific creationism”, born in the 70s of the XX century, linked to the ideas of the fundamentalists, it is inspired not only by anti-evolutionary tendencies but also shows parascientific signs. In perspective of the history of mutual relations between science and religion, which lately has once the dialogue has been decisively revived, the creationist doctrine is an example of intellectual regression and ignorance, in relation to contemporary interpretations of the truth about creation of the world as well as in relation to the current achievements of the natural sciences.Artykuł przedstawia fenomen tzw. „naukowego kreacjonizmu” na tle narodzin i rozwoju współczesnego fundamentalizmu chrześcijańskiego, z czym wiąże się głównie kręgi protestanckie. Chrześcijański fundamentalizm narodził się jako silna reakcja na zmiany w naukowym obrazie świata, a także w świecie myślenia o kulturze przełomu XIX i XX wieku XX wiek. Głównym celem ataków fundamentalistów była teoria ewolucji, Il „naukowy kreacjonizm”, narodzony w latach 70. XX wieku, związany z ideami fundamentalistów, inspirowana jest nie tylko tendencjami antyewolucyjnymi, ale wykazuje także paranaukowe znamiona. W perspektywy historii wzajemnych relacji między nauką a religią, która ostatnio ma miejsce po zdecydowanym ożywieniu dialogu doktryna kreacjonistyczna jest przykładem regresu intelektualnego i ignorancji, w odniesieniu do współczesnych interpretacji prawdy o stworzeniu świata, jak również w odniesieniu do aktualnych osiągnięć nauk przyrodniczych
