Until the fifties, the province of St. Stanislav Kostka did not have its own seminary, lultí the clerics went to study in Krakow. The Major Seminary of Ląd has begun his activity in 1952, in the first years he was affiliated to the Philosophical Studentate of Kutno-Woźniaków, After 1954 it became the Theological Studentate. At first it was more noticeable lack of an adequate library and insufficient trained teachers. The remarkable merit for the development of the student residence had the Rector don Stanislavo Styrna (1968-1976). Since 1974 sludenti acquire the diploma of the teaching of theology at the Catholic University of Lublin and in the Warsaw Catholic Academy.After the division of the Polish provinces in 1980, the formation houses of the The northern provinces remained united until 1996. The Pila province had a studentate Theological in Ląd, while that of Warsaw Philosophical Studentate (post-novitiate) in Kutno (since 1992 in Lodz). Also in Ląd is the Philosophical and Theological Studentate of the Province of Pila.
Do lat pięćdziesiątych prowincja św. Stanisława Kostki nie posiadała własnego seminarium duchownego, klerycy wyjechali na studia do Krakowa. Rozpoczęło się Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne w Lądzie działalność w 1952 r., w pierwszych latach był afiliowany do Studenckiego Studium Filozoficznego w Kutnie-Woźniakowie, Po 1954 r. przekształcił się w Studentat Teologiczny. Na początku było to bardziej zauważalne brak odpowiedniej biblioteki i niewystarczająca liczba przeszkolonych nauczycieli. Niezwykłe zasługi dla rozwojem rezydencji studenckiej kierował rektor don Stanisławo Styrna (1968-1976). od 1974 r studenci uzyskują dyplom nauczania teologii na Katolickim Uniwersytecie Lubelskim i w Warszawskiej Akademii Katolickiej. Po podziale województw polskich w 1980 roku domy formacyjne Województwa północne pozostały zjednoczone do 1996 r. W województwie pilskim istniał studentat teologicznego w Lądzie, natomiast Warszawskiego Studentatu Filozoficznego (postnowicjatu) w Kutnie (od 1992 w Łodzi).
