Sûfî ve tasavvuf kavramlarının ne zaman ortaya çıktığına dair farklı görüşler vardır. Muahhar kaynaklarda bunların tarihi İslam öncesine kadar geri götürülmekte ise de h. III. asırda kaleme alınan eserlerde bile bunu te’yid edecek bilgilere rastlanmamaktadır. Hz. Peygamber döneminden itibaren Müslümanlar arasında yazı hızla yayılmış, Kur’an-ı Kerim ve hadis-i şerifler yanında İslam ilimleri ve bu ilimlere ait kavramlar da kayda geçirilmiştir. Kaynakların yazıldığı dönemden hareketle hangi kavramın ne zaman ortaya çıktığını belirleyebilmek mümkündür. Sûfî ve tasavvuf kavramları ortaya çıktığı yıllardan itibaren yazılı kaynaklara girmiş olmalıdır. Bu nedenle biz kaynaklarda verilen bilgiler yerine ne zaman yer aldığına bakarak bu kavramların ortaya çıktığı dönemi belirlemeye çalışacağız.There are different views on when the concepts of “sufi” and “tasavvuf” used as name of mystic and Islamic Mysticism. In the later sources, the history of these concepts goes back to pre-Islamic times. There is no information to confirm this even in hijri third century written sources. Since the time of the Prophet Muhammad, writing spread rapidly among Muslims, and Islamic sciences and ıt’s terms were recorded in addition to the Quran and hadiths. Thus it is possible us to determine which concept emerged when by examining written sources. The concepts of “sufi” and “tasavvuf” must have been in written sources since their emergence. For this reason, we will leave aside the information contained in the sources and try to determine when these concepts emerged by looking at when these concepts were included in the resources written
