27-180 — The new spring cereal herbicide ZoralTM (GF-5010)  against mono- and dicotyledonous weeds in winter and spring cereals Wolfgang Dietrichs*, Torsten Hentsch, Christian Helinski, Matthias Donner Corteva Agriscience Germany GmbH, München * wolfgang.dietrichs@corteva.com The new post-emergence herbicide ZoralTM consists of three active ingredients: pinoxaden, flo-rasulam, and halauxifen-methyl (Arylex™). This broad-spectrum herbicide is used to control loose silky-bent, as well as various mono- and dicotyledonous weeds in spring/winter wheat, spring/winter barley, spring/winter rye, winter triticale, spelt, and durum wheat during the spring. Formulated as an emulsion concentrate (EC), GF 5010 contains 45 g ai/L pinoxaden, 3.85 g ai/L florasulam, 4.82 g ai/L Arylex, and 11.25 g ai/L of the crop safener cloquintocet mexyl. Regulatory approval for ZoralTM is expected by the end of 2025, with a market launch planned for spring 2026. In winter cereals, the proposed application rate is 1.3 L product/ha, applied at crop stages BBCH 20-39, and in spring cereals, the proposed application rate is 1.0 L product/ha, also applied at crop stages BBCH 20-39. This new cereal herbicide effectively controls annual grass weeds such as Apera spica-venti, sensitive Alopecurus myosuroides, Lolium spp., and Avena fatua, as well as annual dicot weeds including Galium aparine, Centaurea cyanus, Matricaria spp., Papaver rhoeas, and Stellaria media. ZoralTM combines the qualities of Zypar™ (halauxifen-methyl + florasulam) for dicot weed control with pinoxaden for monocot weed control. Zoral has proven to be highly efficacious against several monocot and dicot weeds, especially in spring and winter barley, and is highly selective to the crop. ZoralTM is also selective in all other tested crops, providing a robust solution for weed management in these cereals.
