Modeling the Relationship between Perceptions of Parents' Marriage, Attachment Behaviors, and Marital Satisfaction among Husbands and Wives in Jordan

Abstract

هدفت الدراسة الكشف عن العلاقة السببية بين إدراك زواج الوالدين، وسلوكات التعلق والرضا الزواجي من خلال نمذجة سببية اعتمدت على أسلوب تحليل المسار. اشتملت عينة الدراسة على (634) زوجاً وزوجة من جميع محافظات الأردن، تم تطبيق ثلاثة مقاييس لقياس إدراك زواج الوالدين، وسلوكات التعلق، والرضا الزواجي. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي بشقيه الارتباطي والتحليلي لمناسبته لطبيعة الدراسة. وأشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن إدراك زواج الوالدين لكل من الزوج والزوجة كان متوسطاً، كما أشارت النتائج إلى أن سلوكات التعلق لكل من الزوج والزوجة كانت متوسطة، في حين كان مستوى الرضا الزواجي مرتفعاً لكل من الزوج والزوجة. وأخيراً أظهرت النتائج وجود أثر مباشر لكل من إدراك زواج الوالدين للزوج وللزوجة وسلوك التعلق للزوج وللزوجة في الرضا الزواجي لكل من الزوج والزوجة. وفي ضوء النتائج توصي الدراسة بإجراء البرامج التدريبية حول سلوكات التعلق للمقبلين على الزواج، وإجراء المزيد من الدراسات حول علاقة سلوكات التعلق بمتغيرات أخرى.This study aims to reveal the causal relationship between perceptions of parents’ marriage, attachment behaviors, and marital satisfaction through causal modeling based on the track analysis method. The study sample included (634) husbands and wives from all provinces of Jordan, and three measures were applied to measure the perception of parental marriage, attachment behaviors, and marital satisfaction. The descriptive approach was used, with its relational and analytical parts, due to its suitability for the study. The results indicated that the perceptions of parents’ marriage and the attachment behaviors for both husband and wife were moderate, while the level of marital satisfaction was high for both husband and wife. Finally, the results showed a direct effect on both perceptions of parental marriage, attachment behaviors for both husband and wife in the marital satisfaction of both the husband and wife. In light of the study results, the study recommends conducting training programs on attachment behaviors for those who are married, and further studies looking into the relationship of attachment behaviors to other variables
