Abstract
The subject of the article are four letters sent between 1477 and 1479 by Jan Peszel, canon of the Poznań Collegiate Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to Mikołaj Czepel, his relative, a well-known curialist, member of many Polish cathedral chapters and royal envoy, who was staying in Rome at the time. The first part presents the history of the clergy families and, to a lesser extent, outlines their social circle. The second part discusses the correspondence itself, presenting the content and context of the letters, followed by an external analysis of the letters and their language.Przedmiotem artykułu są cztery listy przesłane w latach 1477-1479 przez Jana Peszla kanonika poznańskiej kolegiaty NMP do Mikołaja Czepla, jego krewnego, znanego kurialisty, członka wielu polskich kapituł katedralnych i posła królewskiego, przebywającego wówczas w Rzymie. Na początku podano dzieje rodzin duchownych, w mniejszej mierze zakreślono krąg ich kontaktów społecznych. Druga część jest już omówieniem samej korespondencji, a więc przedstawieniem treści i kontekstu listów oraz dalej – analizą zewnętrzną listów i ich języka
