The feeds weregiven daily and dry mailer intake determined on a weekly ba-sis. Water was made available at all limes. The feeding trialwa\ earned out until they were 42 days old after which an invivo digestibility trial was performed. At the end of the di-gestibiluy trial the birds were slaughtered and samples of il-eal contents were collected.Relluhll and DillculI ..ionIn general there were no lIignificDnt differences in the effectof two levels of protein or the effect of level of phytase,However, there was an increase in feed intake for birds on 114'h' crude protein, and a significunt difference in intake due tophytase when the birds were 214-35 days of age, Feed intakewas lowest with 70() IU phytase supplemented and highestwith 350 IU. Higher levels of phytase did not IIlleCI intakesigniflcantly. In general the weight gains of birds fed 20 %Cl' was significantly higher III 700 IU phytase supplementa-tion. The feed conversion ratio were similarly not affected hyphytase or protein levels. However, over the whole period,the FCR was beuer III 700 and J050 IU phytase supplcmcn-talion for bird!! fed 20 % Cl' 12.1 and 2,2 respectively).
