Polytechnic of Milan is an unique representative in the field of architectural conservation/restoration in Italy as well as Europe. The research and education of this field in Polytechnic are initiated in full-scale and have been diversified today. The article aims at providing a reference for the similar field in China but yet it is limited. The observation is based on the context and development of the disciplinary of conservation in Europe and Italy, particularly focuses on the ideas, methods, instruments and contents of education from different schools and departments in Polytechnic of Milan , with regard to the relation between architecture and architectural conservation/restoration.published_or_final_versio
