Moral economy is an important content of economic history studies. In the years 1830-1850 in Netherlands a large-scale resistance against taxation of farmers occurred in Noord-Brabant and Groningen the most intense. As compared to Groningen, moral economy played a more notable roll in this resistancein Noord-Brabant. An analysis of the resistance against taxation needs to trace the interrelations between changes in the social-economical and cultural domains
