Cement emulsified asphalt mortar (CA mortar), as one of the key structural layers of slab ballastless track for high-speed railways, consists of cement, emulsified asphalt, sand, water, and appropriate additives, etc., which plays the roles of adjusting, supporting, load transferring, vibration damping, and vibration isolation. The research progress of CA mortar in mix proportion design, dynamic viscoelasticity, dynamic mechanical properties, and fatigue properties were reviewed in this paper, the shortcomings of the current research were analyzed, and the key directions of CA mortar dynamic mechanical properties were explored and prospected that need to be researched urgently in the future, including the intelligent design method of CA mortar mix proportion, the dynamic mechanical properties and damage mechanism of CA mortar under the action of multi-factor coupling, and the dynamic constitutive model construction and numerical simulation of CA mortar. It could provide theoretical support for the operation and maintenance of CA mortar of slab ballastless track and the research and development of new CA mortar
