Stosunek osadzonych Federacji Rosyjskiej do czynnego udziału w wojnie na Ukrainie

Abstract

The article explains the interrelationship between the hierarchical order formed within prison subcultures in Russia and the attitude of prisoners to active participation in the fighting in Ukraine. Their participation in the war is worrisome from the point of view of NATO countries, since prisoners constitute a sizable force, and their use, despite the large-scale losses suffered, is effective. Based on a study of prison subcultures and their evolution, the authors identify those most likely to participate in the fighting on the Ukrainian front, also explaining their combat methods. The article is written using a critical analysis of sources, literature and available legal acts. It provides an understanding of the methods used by the Russian war machine to obtain the recruits needed on the battlefield. Special attention has been paid to the situation in which convicts find themselves before they make the drastic decision to join frontline operations
