The official and private requests and denouncements sent to Sultan Abdulhamid II, who wanted to be instantaneously informed about all the incidents happening inland and outland, are remarkably important sources in the context of historical studies. The request, which constitutes the primary source of our study and was written by an imam in 1891 and submitted to the Sultan, was evaluated and discussed in this context. Apart from of the official perspective, providing an individual outlook to the incidents of that era and suggesting solutions were also considered valuable.
In this request, the Sultan and the Government were not only informed about the important incidents that constituted the agenda of the era, but also solutions were presented for the problems such as the Jesuits and Protestants' missionary activities in Adana and its surroundings along with concerns about them, the problems faced by the Circassian immigrants during the resettlement, the responsibilities of public officials in the Armenian revolts, the reasons behind the Nusayri incidents, the epidemic Cholera, the problems caused by illiteracy of women, the allegations of indecent relations of the Adana governor, and the misconduct in public service
