While lanthanoid contraction has been extensively studied, the knowledge on the complexes of EDTA, a commonly used ligand, remains inadequate. Thus, this study presents a comprehensive analysis based on data from the CCDC. In mononuclear EDTA complexes, systematic lanthanoid contraction depending on their coordination number are obtained. However, in multinuclear or coordination polymer complexes, a greater atomic bond length variation occurs, uncommon for lanthanoid contraction studies in previous research. This suggests the versatility of EDTA as a ligand.JXIV, doi.org/10.51094/jxiv.560; 2023articl
