An analysis was carried out during the triennium 1994-1996 and the malignant tumors of the maxillofacial region treated in the Maxillofacial Surgery Service of Artemisa were studied. The male sex was more affected than the female, the skin tumors were the most frequent, affected in a high percentage white skin patients, and basal cell carcinoma was the most observed histological type. Regarding the most frequent location in the oral cavity was the lower lip, and the histological type that most prevailed was squamous cell carcinoma. 3% of all the tumors found corresponded with metastasis, which debuted in the orofacial zone.Se realizó un análisis durante el trienio 1994-1996 y se estudiaron los tumoresmalignos de la región maxilofacial tratados en el Servicio de Cirugía Maxilofacial de Artemisa. Elsexo masculino fue más afectado que el femenino, los tumores de la piel fueron los más frecuentes,afectaron en elevado porcentaje a los pacientes de tez blanca, y el carcinoma basocelular fue el tipohistológico que más se observó. En cuanto a la localización más frecuente en la cavidad bucal fue ellabio inferior, y el tipo histológico que más predominó fue el carcinoma epidermoide.
