During the recent decades, the time limit that defines convulsive status epilepticus (CSE) has progressively shortened, to urge clinicians to treat early and aggressively. In addition to symptomatic antiseizure treatment, identification and treatment of the underlying cause is essential. This review investigates the current Danish national guidelines for the treatment of CSE in children and adults.
