Understanding social change through cartoons

Abstract

Bu çalışmada amaç, toplumsal değişimin karikatürlere nasıl yansıdığını ortaya koymaya çalışmaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışma grubu olarak, Akbaba dergisinde 1923-1929 yılları arasında yayımlanan 19 karikatür seçilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak doküman incelemesi metodu kullanılmıştır. Doküman incelemesi metoduyla toplanılan veriler, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma bireylerin; giyim-kuşam tarzında, yenilik ve yenilenme kavramına bakış açılarında, ahlaki davranış ve bunu algılayış biçimlerinde, tekke medrese gibi dini kurumlar; hoca, halife gibi dini şahsiyetlere karşı yaklaşım biçimlerinde, uzun yıllara dayanan hoşgörü ve bir arada yaşama kültüründe, okuyup yazdıkları harf sisteminde vb. toplumsal değişim konularının karikatürlere yansıması dikkate alınarak değerlendirilmiştir.The purpose of this study is to try to reveal how social change has been reflected in the cartoons. For this purpose, the working group between the years of 1923-1929 as the cartoon culture magazine entitled Akbaba were selected from 19 caricature that were released. Data collection tools data analysis was determined using the method of document analysis. The collected data were analyzed using the content analysis method with the method of document review. The style of dress of the individuals working in the concept of innovation in the way we approach moral behavior in religious institutions and religious figures in perspective against based on long years of coexistence and tolerance in the culture, read and write a reflection letter about social change have been taken into account in the system of cartoons
