Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin İlk Ders Kitapları

Abstract

The underlying constitution of the educational system of Turkish Republic and its revolutions was the Act of Tevhid-i Tedrisat which established the grounds for the quality of the education at schools and the educational management. The main problem in this new framework was curriculum development, syllabus designs of the courses and the choice of the course books. Since there was no earlier preparation till the act of “Tevhid-i Tedrisat“, the first step was to revise the earlier coursebooks and syllabi. The old ideologies and the topics representing the Ottoman Empire were eliminated and they were replaced by the new ideology of Turkish republic. The materials selected from the all course books up to that time were used till the early 1930s when the new coursebooks were designed and published. This study aims at highlighting and documenting complete list of the coursebooks which have not been published anywhere with an introduction to tackle the background, which is believed to pave the way for the further research.Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin eğitim sisteminin ve anlayışının anayasısı Tevhid-i Tedrisat Kanunu’dur. Tevhid-i Tedrisat Kanunu’yla birlikte okullarda verilecek olan eğitimin niteliği ve eğitim yönetimi anlayışının esasları belirlenmiştir. Müfredat programlarının ve programlara uygun olarak hazırlanmış ders kitaplarının sağlanması ve eğitim-öğretimin bu kitaplarla yürütülmesi önemli bir sorun olmuştur. Tevhid-i Tedrisat Kanunu’na kadar bu konuda daha önce bir hazırlık yapılmadığı için, ilk aşamada eski öğretim programlarında yer alan dersler ve ders müfredatları gözden geçirilmiştir. Eski programlarda ve kitaplarda yer alan Osmanlı ideolojisini temsil eden bazı dersler ve konular ayıklanırken, yerlerine Cumhuriyet ideolojisini temsil eden yeni başlıklar eklenerek tekrar düzenlenmiştir. O zamana kadar okullarda okutulan bütün ders kitaplarının incelenmesi sonucu seçilmiş olan yayınlar, 1930’ların başlarında yenileri yazılıncaya kadar kullanılmışlardır. Bu çalışma Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin ilk ders kitapları olan bu eserlerin hiçbir yerde yayımlanmamış tam bir listesini gün ışığına çıkarma amacını taşımaktadır. Konunun arka planını ortaya koyan kısa değerlendirmeyle söz konusu kitapların listesi sunulmuş ve bu alanda yapılacak araştırmalara zemin hazırlanmıştır
