Gabriela Cabezón Cámara’s writing presents an aesthetic proposal that highlights Latin American cultural heterogeneity. The Argentine author’s poetic may be included in the so-called “neobarroso”, in the genealogy of Néstor Perlongher, who in turn continues and transforms the baroque and neo-baroque tradition. In this work, based on theoretical categories from Michel Foucault, Judith Butler and Giorgio Agamben, I propose to deal with the latest novel by Cabezón Cámara, Las niñas del naranjel, to study the tensions with the hegemonic discourse, in relation to the discourse of confession, the construction of the other and the exercise of power, with respect to both the colonial past and the Latin American present and future
