Through the analysis of the relationship between religion and public space, it is possible to reconstruct the evolution of the form of the State. In demonstrating this assumption, a study will be made of the regulation of the religious factor in the public space, to outline some elements that have characterized the different constitutional forms assumed by the Italian State. In particular, the main points of evolution of the discipline of religion classes and symbols in public school will be examined, from the unification of Italy to the advent of the new constitutional model
